1. Information We Collect
When you create and use a Rydora account, we collect the following types of information:
Account Information
- Name, email address, and phone number
- Profile photo and rider biography
- Motorcycle details (make, model, year) if you choose to add them
- Referral codes used during registration
Ride & Activity Data
- Routes created, joined, or completed
- Ride distance, duration, and checkpoints
- Ride accomplishments and milestones
- Group memberships and ride history
Communications
- Messages sent in group chat rooms
- Voice communication session metadata (not recorded)
- Community posts and interactions
Device & Technical Data
- Device type, operating system version
- App version and crash reports
- IP address and network type
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your Rydora account
- Enable ride planning, navigation, and group coordination features
- Send live location data to group members during active rides (only when you enable this feature)
- Trigger SOS alerts and notify your emergency contacts when requested
- Process marketplace transactions and facilitate gear delivery
- Calculate and award Rydora tokens based on your activity
- Send app notifications, ride reminders, and safety alerts
- Improve platform features based on usage patterns
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Location Data
Location is central to Rydora's core functionality. Here is how we handle it:
- During active rides: Your real-time GPS location is shared with your ride group members while the ride is in progress and you have location sharing enabled.
- SOS events: Your precise location is immediately shared with your emergency contacts and nearby Rydora riders when you trigger an SOS.
- Route recording: Completed ride routes are stored to generate your ride accomplishment history and map visualizations.
- Location sharing is opt-in: You control when your location is shared. You can disable it at any time from the app settings.
- Background location: We request background location access solely to maintain group tracking during active rides. This is explained clearly in the app before permission is requested.
📍 We never share your location data with advertisers or use it for profiling purposes outside the Rydora platform.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With other riders: Your profile name, photo, and basic ride activity are visible to members of communities and rides you join. You control your privacy settings.
- With service providers: We use trusted third-party services including AWS (cloud infrastructure), Google Maps (navigation), Razorpay (payments), and Delhivery (logistics). These providers process data only as needed to deliver their service.
- For safety and legal reasons: We may disclose information when required by law, in response to legal process, or to protect the safety of riders on the platform.
- Business transfers: If Rydora is acquired or merges with another company, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified in advance.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- All data transmitted between your app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
- Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
- Our infrastructure runs on AWS with private network isolation between services
- Payment processing is handled entirely by Razorpay — we do not store card numbers or UPI credentials
- Access to production databases is restricted to authorized personnel only
While we take strong precautions, no system is completely immune to security breaches. We will notify affected users promptly in the event of a data breach.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Specific retention periods:
- Account data: Retained until you delete your account
- Ride history and routes: Retained for the lifetime of your account; exported on request
- Chat messages: Retained for 12 months, then permanently deleted
- Location history: Raw GPS traces are deleted within 30 days; summarized ride routes are retained
- Transaction records: Retained for 7 years as required by Indian financial regulations
When you delete your account, all personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Your Rights
As a Rydora user, you have the right to:
- Access your data: Request a complete export of all data we hold about you
- Correct your data: Update or correct inaccurate personal information at any time via app settings
- Delete your account: Permanently delete your account and associated data — see our Account Deletion page
- Withdraw consent: Disable location sharing, notifications, and other optional permissions at any time
- Portability: Request your ride history, accomplishments, and profile data in a portable format

8. Children's Privacy
Rydora is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age. If we become aware that a user under 18 has registered, we will immediately delete their account and associated data.

9. Third-Party Services
Rydora integrates the following third-party services. Their own privacy policies apply to their data handling:
- Google Maps & Directions API — for navigation and route visualization
- Razorpay — for payment processing in the marketplace
- Delhivery — for gear marketplace delivery logistics
- AWS (Amazon Web Services) — for cloud hosting and data storage
- Firebase (Google) — for push notifications
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our platform evolves. When we make significant changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Send an in-app notification to all active users
- For major changes, request your explicit acknowledgment before continuing to use the platform
